Monitor & Camera

Helpful Hints

  • Helpful Hints

    1. Night vision: for use in a darkened room, video display is black and white only.  The closer the monitor is to the camera, the better the picture quality.  The farther the distance, the less clear the picture and it may appear grainy.  Any additional light source, such as a nightlight, may improve clarity of night vision.
    2. Optimal color video picture requires a well lit room.
    3. Optimal distance between monitor and camera is 15-60 feet and the maximum range is 600 feet.  When the units are too close together (15 feet or less), audio feedback could result.
    4. Camera placement in baby’s room:  optimal distance is 4-6 feet.
    5. Use of other digital products, 2.4GHz, such as cordless phones, may cause interference with the picture quality.  Discontinuing use of other 2.4GHz wireless products will help.
    6. Better reception can often be accomplished by changing the position of the monitor on the counter or table.  Another technique for improving reception is to adjust the position of the camera antenna.
